Another Ann Arbor icon lying down for eternal rest

Today, Wednesday, January 30th, 2008, School Kids' Records closed their doors for the last time. They've moved, they've been exiled, and now they've been laid to rest. Since my first excursions to Ann Arbor they've been part of the landscape of this town, no less recognizable than State and Liberty. School Kids, we wish you well.

And just as one cozy nook of art closes down, another sprouts, possibly. An art's collective? At the very least the brainstorming, the imagining of the possibilities, and the good hardy laughs in between were well worth the notion.

Let's see what happens.
