Fall
is a very sensual season.
Leaves that crunch, rustle, and display an explosion of colors that rival the brilliant, last hoorah of a star in super-nova
and of course you can't forget the aroma emitted by that last flourish of life, embedded in the olfactory memory of any midwestern child.
With crisp, juicy apples, the crunch of a properly fried doughnut, and the comfort of hooded-sweatshirt that perfectly takes away the chill, there's nothing better than a day outdoors in the sunny fall.
And when those cold, wet, gray days come and remind you, after the summer's blasting heat, that another season is possible, when the bright yellow leaves stuck to wet pavement and windshields are in stark contrast to the gloom of the rest of the world,
wood smoke wafts through the air, and you think, with a crackling fireplace to come home to, and a heavy blanket to snuggle in, even the cold rain is not so bad.
