...and the moon rose over and open field

A night to just sit outside and look at the starts.

The dock would be nice, lying on the blanket, looking up at the dark sky. Maybe it would be warm enough to slip into the still water
and watch the reflection of the stars on the glassy surface
barely moving, right at eye level.
Or maybe it would be a little chilly, and the blanket would be pulled a little closer
tucked around feet to keep them safe from the cool metal frame.
The water lapping quietly underneath the cedar trees on the old stone shore.

The prospect of a life where there isn't just time for moments of peaceful beauty, but where I feel like there's time.

An escape for the weekend to see the beautiful fall color.
An extra day to play, glide and romp through the snowy woods, and curl up in front of the fire place.
An afternoon jumping from one floating ice raft to another in the bay, the smell of snow and spring, lakeside irises and earth.

It's time to relish the busy and bustling opportunities, and enjoy these quiet moments.
