Seriously. The sky is filled with crows. Thousands and thousands of crows! I cannot look out a single window without seeing their black silhouettes against the gray clouds. The leaves on the cemetery trees aren't leaves. They're swarms and swarms of crows, ready and waiting to release terror wherever they go (or release something...).
For a town so rich with literary history--Robert Frost, Arthur Miller, etc.--this is pretty damn terrifying. What sort of symbolism could the writers of the coffee shops, with their laptops and books, construct from this?

Ah, the crows. I SO don't miss those nasty buggers. I remember walking to lunch at Barbour/Newberry and having to pick my way down the sticky, crunchy sidewalk. Yech.
