Must all goals have an element of being public in order to keep us accountable?
Is it the competitive nature of Americans to have the spotlight drive our ambition?
Or is it fear of embarrassment in a public venue that pulls us kicking and screaming to achieve something more?
Is it vanity? Or is it wanting to do something better, simply because it affects other people?
Sometimes it seems that our greatest critics are ourselves, watching the world, watching us.
